Joseph J. Kalkbrenner, Jr. is an experienced civil and commercial litigator representing individuals and businesses in the Pennsylvania Courts of Common Pleas and the United States District Courts, including mediations, arbitrations, trials and appeals. His commercial and construction litigation practice includes construction disputes, mechanic's lien claims, collection cases, shareholder and business disputes and landlord and tenant matters. Mr. Kalkbrenner is experienced in the formation of new business entities, including general and limited partnerships, limited liability companies and corporations, and in the preparation of partnership, limited liability company and shareholder agreements. He represents and counsels management for various types of businesses, including technology companies, real estate investment and construction companies and a shortline railroad. Mr. Kalkbrenner's family law practice includes pre-nuptial and post-nuptial agreements, divorce, custody conciliation and mediation, child and spousal support and equitable distribution. Mr. Kalkbrenner also practices in the area of estate planning and administration. Before entering private practice, Mr. Kalkbrenner served as an assistant district attorney in Montgomery County, Pennsylvania, from 1982 to 1988, prosecuting and overseeing thousands of criminal cases, and ultimately achieving the position of Chief of the Trials Division.
